Privacy Policy — Piano Cadence

Last updated: 26 May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile app Piano Cadence ("the app", "we", "us") handles information. The app is developed and published by Simen Weberg ("the developer"). By using the app you agree to the practices described here.

Summary

Information stored only on your device

The following never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or anyone else. It is stored locally and removed if you uninstall the app:

Information collected (crash & diagnostics)

To keep the app stable, we use Sentry, a third-party crash-reporting service, as our data processor. When the app encounters an error or crash, the following diagnostic information may be transmitted to Sentry's servers (located in the European Union):

Data typeExamples
Crash logs & errorsStack traces, error messages, "app not responding" events
Device diagnosticsDevice model, operating-system version, app version, available memory, screen size, language/region
Stability dataApp session start/stop and crash-free statistics
Installation identifierA random, app-generated identifier that is not linked to your identity or hardware and resets if you reinstall
In-app contextWhich screen/mode was active, the title of the song being practiced, and the name of a connected MIDI keyboard, to help diagnose a crash

This data is not used to identify you and is not used for advertising. We have disabled the collection of personal identifiers — in particular, your IP address is not stored. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).

How we use this information

Crash and diagnostic data is used only to detect, diagnose, and fix bugs and to improve the stability and quality of the app. It is not used for marketing, profiling, or sold to anyone.

Your choice — turning off crash reporting

Crash reporting is optional. You can disable it at any time in Settings → Privacy → Send crash reports. When disabled, the app stops sending crash and diagnostic reports; the opt-out applies fully from the next time you open the app.

Data sharing

We do not sell or share your data with third parties for their own purposes. The crash data described above is processed by Sentry strictly on our behalf, as a service provider/processor. You can review Sentry's privacy practices at https://sentry.io/privacy/.

Purchases

The app offers a one-time in-app purchase. Payments are processed by Google Play; we do not receive or store your payment details. Please refer to Google's privacy policy for how Google handles payment information.

Data retention

Crash and diagnostic data is retained by Sentry only as long as needed for debugging (by default, on the order of 90 days) and is then automatically deleted.

Children

Piano Cadence is intended for users aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

You may contact us to ask what data is associated with your app installation or to request its deletion. Because crash data is not linked to your identity, please include relevant details (such as your device model and the approximate date) so we can locate it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
